The first (Bilbao Bizkaia Architecture) BIA award, organized by the BIA initiative, which gives name to the award, together with the delegation of the Association of Bizkaia Vasco-Navarro (COAVN) Architects, has announced the winner of this first edition.
Every two years, the distinction named aims to honor the work of those proposals architectural field have been involved in the revitalization of Biscay province, providing a new social and urban character.
Members of Bilbao Bizkaia Architecture, refusing to create a simple award, decided to complement the award ceremony with a congress, which will be titled Urban Regeneration Forum, and will serve as a forum for reflection, hosting various activities and over 300 professionals in architecture and urbanism.
PRIZE
The BIA 1st Jury Prize declared winner of Norman Foster.
According have declared themselves members of the jury, the English architect was awarded for his contribution in the development of the Bilbao city, Vizcaya and the whole society through its architecture.
Foster will collect the Prize on 26 September at the awards ceremony to be held at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
