The winner in the category CITY AND LANDSCAPE has been awarded to MADRID RIVER GINÉS GARRIDO (TEAM LEADER) BURGOS & GARRIDO / CHEERLEADING BREED / RUBIO & ALVAREZ-SALA / WEST 8. This development project, you can say it is a project consists of various projects. Through changes in road infrastructure (as may be the burial of the M-30) is achieved cohesive neighborhoods that until now were segregated. Thus, tissues bringing a new urban quality for the citizens of Madrid are revitalized.
The winner in the category of INTERIORISMO has been awarded to Tondeluna of MARIA JOSE DE BLAS, RUBÉN PICADO. There is also a big hit when choosing materials and showing great intent with respect to functionality, aesthetics and respect for sustainability.
As for FAD ARCHITECTURE 2012, the CENTRO CULTURAL AWARD MATADERO of Madrid has been chosen this year dedicated to contemporary creation. Slaughterhouse management chooses from a social point of view, ie, a free space dedicated to experimentation and culture managed by its citizens. It all started in 2007 with the rehabilitation of the hall, and has been intervening on a regular basis (such as the Nave 16 and the Red Bull Music Academy, finalists in this edition of the FAD.)
Matadero Madrid has become a benchmark as a cultural center in the Spanish capital, and that collective intelligence and multiple interventions, the center has been modified mostly from inside maintaining its industrial exterior character.
