XII BRICK ARCHITECTURE AWARD 2011-2013
The twelfth edition of Brick Architecture Award, sponsored by the Section of Face Bricks View HISPALYT and biennial call, had as objectives: to assess those architectural projects using the exposed brick promote the production of this material in the field of architecture; besides trying to create a wider dissemination of these works and their social impact.
AWARDS
The jury awarded a prize (with a budget of € 6000), a first mention and two second mentions.
1st PRIZE - SPACE TRANSMITTER mound by Toni Gironés
"The jury in this intervention the ceramic material is used holistically, lattices, fences, walls and floors. The journey to the space where the ruins are located discovered, also becomes a succession of indoor and outdoor spaces properly linked by the textures and construction solutions. The set is a good example of public works restrained in the budget but generous in the outcome. "

I CERAMIC ARCHITECTURE AWARD (category shingles) 2011-2013
This first edition of Ceramics Architecture Prize, a biennial basis intended to assess the architecture created with other ceramic materials, other than bricks face side, and bring society all those architectural works can improve the use and dissemination of these materials.

1st PRIZE - ATARAZANAS LIVE by Robert and Esteve Terradas
"The jury praised the careful renovation of the structure and cover in a building of cultural use and of great historical value, and the successful reuse of existing tile, properly protected and well studied for meetings without losing the constructive quality, responding to a demanding renovation as the packaging of the new spaces. "
1st MENTION - SNAIL by Francisco Javier Rodríguez Fernández García and Olivia Feijoo
"Global architectural proposal, in which the tile is an integral part of the roof and facades, and good resolution of the meetings that take the most appropriate to fit the complex geometry of the building is valued formulas."
2nd MENTION - FOUNDATION RUBIDO ROMERO by Elizabeth Abalo and Gonzalo Alonso
"From a very dilapidated building, the intervention of his careful restoration tile valued as a material used to meet several purposes, they value the material texture or plastic capacity, careful integration with the environment where the action is situated."
