As of winter 2018, GITeS’ teams will carry out peace and quiet and prevention visits on the various sites concerned, strictly limited to the private domain of social housing providers and essentially in the evening and at night (approximately 4pm to 3am).
Every night of the year, a dozen residential peace and quiet and safety officers, out of a total staff of thirty, will carry out these visits.
GITeS will cover all properties managed by housing providers, throughout the Toulouse conurbation. The choice of residences concerned and intervention methods will be determined in conjunction with the housing providers’ community-based teams (agencies, mediation department, etc.) as well as police services, depending on the problems reported.
These teams will also respond to calls from tenants, who can avail of this service at no extra cost.
In-depth residence visits will be conducted to detect technical anomalies and ensure peace and quiet, notably in the event of gatherings causing disturbances in the communal areas of buildings.
The primary task of GITeS’ residential peace and quiet and safety officers will be to get in touch with tenants, create trust-based relationships and social links with the territory’s residents and stakeholders.
It should be pointed out that combating drug trafficking and any other delinquent acts is not an objective of the structure in itself, but falls solely and unambiguously within the remit of the public authority (under its policing powers).
